Today’s Ayat  

 

But whoever repents after their wrongdoing and mends their ways, Allah will surely turn to them in forgiveness. Indeed, Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
  — al-Ma`ida 5:39
   as rendered by The Clear Quran, Dr. Mustafa Khattab

فَمَن تَابَ مِن بَعْدِ ظُلْمِهِ وَأَصْلَحَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يَتُوبُ عَلَيْهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيم

Commentary/example:

Forgive yourself. Maybe you’re not where you want to be in life. You’ve made mistakes. It’s part of being human. You don’t have a time machine so torturing yourself over things in the past does no one — not you or anyone else — any good.

Forgive yourself, learn the lessons, and move forward.

BUT LEARN THAT LESSON.
